Ingredients:
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, add pineapple juice, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Whisk the mixture until the sugar is dissolved and everything is well combined.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, ground black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.
- Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Allow the sauce to simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until it thickens to your desired consistency.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary—add more vinegar for tanginess or brown sugar for sweetness.
- Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before transferring it to a storage container.
