Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, add pineapple juice, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Whisk the mixture until the sugar is dissolved and everything is well combined.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, ground black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.
  4. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  5. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until it thickens to your desired consistency.
  6. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary—add more vinegar for tanginess or brown sugar for sweetness.
  7. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before transferring it to a storage container.
