Ingredients:
- 2 slices of good-quality sandwich bread (e.g., sourdough, white, multigrain)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (30g)
- 2-3 slices cheddar cheese, or your favorite melting cheese (about 2 ounces / 57g)
Instructions:
- Generously butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet. Layer the cheese evenly on top. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Place the skillet over medium-low heat. Cook for 2-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey. Use the spatula to gently press down on the sandwich to ensure even browning and cheese melting.
- Remove from the skillet and serve hot. Slice in half (optional, but highly recommended for that cheese pull!).
