Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Brussels sprouts: Trim the ends and halve them.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Add Brussels sprouts to the bowl and toss until evenly coated with the mixture.
  5. Lay Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until tender and caramelized.
  7. Drizzle with extra balsamic glaze if desired and serve warm.
