Ingredients:
- 1 pound Lean Ground Beef (85/15 recommended)
- 1/2 cup Yellow Onion, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper, freshly ground
- 1 package (12 rolls) Dinner Rolls (Hawaiian or Brioche pull-apart style)
- 8-10 slices Cheese Slices (American/Cheddar blend)
- Sliced Pickles or Gherkins (Optional)
- 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Dried Minced Onion or Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion until soft. Add the ground beef and cook until mostly browned (about 80% cooked). Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Remove the skillet from heat and thoroughly drain off any excess fat.
- Using a long serrated knife, slice the entire package of rolls horizontally through the middle, keeping the whole block intact. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the seasoned beef evenly across the bottom layer of the rolls, pressing it down lightly. Layer the sliced pickles (if using) and then arrange the cheese slices on top of the meat layer, overlapping slightly for full coverage.
- Place the top half of the rolls back over the cheese layer.
- In a small bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the onion powder, garlic powder, Dijon mustard, and sesame seeds (if using) to create the signature glaze.
- Using a pastry brush, thoroughly coat the tops of the slider buns with the prepared butter mixture, ensuring some drips down into the gaps between the rolls.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and the rolls to soften via steam.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and slightly crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing the individual sliders apart. Serve immediately.
