Ingredients:

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes (about 1 pound / 450g total), scrubbed clean
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) salt (optional)
  • Pinch of black pepper (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) salt (optional, for boiling)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes. Peel if desired.
  2. Choose your cooking method: Baking, Boiling, Microwaving, Air Frying, or Grilling.
  3. (A) Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Prick sweet potatoes with a fork. Rub with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until easily pierced with a fork.
  4. (B) Boiling: Cut sweet potatoes into 1-inch (2.5cm) pieces. Place in a pot, cover with water, and add salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 12-20 minutes, or until tender. Drain.
  5. (C) Microwaving: Prick sweet potatoes with a fork. Microwave on high for 5-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until tender.
  6. (D) Air Frying: Cut sweet potatoes into 1-inch (2.5cm) cubes or fries. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12-18 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until tender and slightly browned.
  7. (E) Grilling: Preheat grill to medium heat. Prick sweet potatoes with a fork. Wrap individually in foil. Grill for 30-40 minutes, flipping occasionally, or until tender.
  8. Test for doneness: Insert a fork or skewer into the center of the sweet potato. It should slide in easily with little resistance.
  9. Serve: Enjoy as is, or add your favorite toppings.
