Ingredients:

  • 1 (14 oz) package lil smokies sausages (400 g)
  • 1 (8 oz) package crescent roll dough (225 g)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • ½ cup mustard (yellow or your favorite variety)
  • ½ cup honey

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (if using) for easier cleanup.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. If necessary, use a rolling pin to flatten and seal the seams.
  4. Slice the dough into triangles (about 3 inches wide), ensuring they are uniform for even cooking.
  5. Place each lil smokie at the wide end of the triangle. Roll up tightly towards the point.
  6. Arrange wrapped sausages seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush each pig in a blanket with the beaten egg using a pastry brush. Sprinkle with poppy seeds if desired.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm with dipping sauce options.
