Ingredients:
- 1 (14 oz) package lil smokies sausages (400 g)
- 1 (8 oz) package crescent roll dough (225 g)
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
- ½ cup mustard (yellow or your favorite variety)
- ½ cup honey
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (if using) for easier cleanup.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. If necessary, use a rolling pin to flatten and seal the seams.
- Slice the dough into triangles (about 3 inches wide), ensuring they are uniform for even cooking.
- Place each lil smokie at the wide end of the triangle. Roll up tightly towards the point.
- Arrange wrapped sausages seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush each pig in a blanket with the beaten egg using a pastry brush. Sprinkle with poppy seeds if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm with dipping sauce options.
