Ingredients:

  • 1 whole head of garlic
  • 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil (extra virgin)
  • ½ teaspoon of salt (adjust to taste)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice off the top of the garlic bulb (about ¼ inch to expose the cloves). Drizzle olive oil over the exposed cloves, ensuring even coating.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and optional black pepper for added flavor.
  4. Wrap the garlic head in aluminum foil or place in a baking dish and cover with another dish or foil.
  5. Place in the oven and roast for 30-40 minutes until the cloves are soft and golden brown.
  6. Let the garlic cool slightly, then squeeze the roasted cloves out of their skins.
  7. Use immediately in dishes or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
