Ingredients:

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes (about 1 lb / 450g), peeled and cut into 1/4-inch thick fries
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (5ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (1.25ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat!) (1.25ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (2.5ml), or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (1.25ml)

Instructions:

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into even fries, about 1/4-inch thick. Try to keep them uniform for even cooking.
  2. Place the fries in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss until the fries are evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) if your air fryer requires it. Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside.
  5. Remove the air fryer sweet potato fries from the air fryer and serve immediately.
