Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2-3 fresh jalapeño peppers, stemmed and roughly chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro or parsley, finely chopped

Instructions:

  1. Chop the jalapeños and mince the garlic.
  2. In a blender, combine sour cream and mayonnaise.
  3. Add chopped jalapeños, minced garlic, lime juice, and a pinch of salt to the blender.
  4. Blend until creamy and well-combined, scraping down the sides as needed.
  5. Taste the crema and adjust salt or lime juice as desired.
  6. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors.
  7. Stir again before serving and optionally garnish with fresh herbs.
