Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- 8 oz (227 g) semisweet chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, warm the heavy cream until it starts to steam but is not boiling.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chopped chocolate (or chips) to the hot cream. Allow it to sit for 1-2 minutes.
- Use a whisk to mix the chocolate and cream until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is glossy.
- Add the unsalted butter and stir until completely melted and combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance the chocolate flavor.
- Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
