Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp Superfine Granulated Sugar (for the rim)
- 1 tsp Fresh Lime Juice (or water, for wetting the rim)
- 3 oz High-Quality Vodka
- 3 oz 100% Cranberry Juice
- 1 oz Orange Liqueur (e.g., Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice (freshly squeezed)
- 5 - 1 oz Simple Syrup (1:1 ratio, adjust to taste)
- 6 Fresh Cranberries (for garnish)
- 2 Fresh Rosemary Sprigs (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Pre-Chill: Place the martini glasses (or coupes) in the freezer for at least 15 minutes. This is critical for maintaining the cocktail’s temperature and preventing rapid dilution.
- Prepare the Rim: Spread the superfine granulated sugar evenly on a shallow plate.
- Rim the Glass: Rub a lime wedge or dip the rim of the chilled glass lightly in lime juice (or water). Immediately invert the glass and gently press the rim into the sugar. Tap off any excess sugar.
- Combine Liquids: In the cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, cranberry juice, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.
- Add Ice: Fill the shaker 3/4 full with solid, good-quality ice cubes.
- The Vigor: Seal the shaker tightly. Shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds. You should see a noticeable frost develop on the outside of the shaker, ensuring maximum chill.
- Double Strain: Use the built-in strainer (and an optional fine mesh strainer) to pour the mixture directly into the prepared, chilled martini glasses.
- Garnish: Skewer three fresh cranberries onto a cocktail pick. Place the pick across the rim of the glass and nestle a small rosemary sprig next to it, mimicking a miniature Christmas wreath or ornament.
- Serve Immediately.
