Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp (15-30 ml) milk (optional, for consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Soften cream cheese and butter at room temperature.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and butter. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar while mixing on low speed to prevent a cloud of sugar. Increase speed and mix until fully combined and fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
  5. If too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time until desired spreadability is reached.
  6. Taste the frosting and adjust sweetness or flavor as desired.
