  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (220g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Introduce eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  8. Using a cookie scoop, portion out dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie before baking.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown but centers remain soft.
  11. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
