Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (220g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Introduce eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Using a cookie scoop, portion out dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie before baking.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown but centers remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
