Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe mangoes (about 2 cups pureed, peeled and pitted)
  • 4 ounces (120 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau, Triple Sec)
  • 6 ounces (180 ml) tequila (silver or reposado)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes (for blending and serving)
  • Coarse sea salt or chili powder (for rimming glass)

Instructions:

  1. Rub lime wedges around the rim of each glass. Dip rims in coarse salt or chili powder if desired.
  2. Peel, pit, and chop mangoes. Blend mango chunks in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  3. In a cocktail shaker (or a large pitcher), combine mango puree, lime juice, orange liqueur, tequila, and agave syrup.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture for about 30 minutes for enhanced flavor, or serve immediately over ice.
  5. Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour mango margarita mixture over the ice. Garnish with lime wedges.
