Ingredients:

  • Large Russet Potatoes (8-12 oz / 225-340g)
  • Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil (1-2 tablespoons)
  • Coarse Sea Salt (1-2 teaspoons)
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper (To taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Dry them well.
  3. Pierce each potato several times with a fork.
  4. Rub the potatoes with olive oil or vegetable oil. Sprinkle generously with coarse sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  5. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet. Bake for 45-75 minutes, or until the potatoes are easily pierced with a fork and the skin is crispy.
  6. A properly baked potato will feel soft when squeezed gently. The internal temperature should reach around 210°F (99°C).
  7. Carefully remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
