Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon (3g) matcha powder
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) hot water
- 1 cup (240ml) milk of your choice
- Optional: 1-2 teaspoons (5-10ml) sweetener
Instructions:
- Sift the matcha powder into the small bowl. Add the hot water. Whisk vigorously using a matcha whisk (chasen) or regular whisk until a smooth, vibrant green paste forms with no lumps.
- Gently warm the milk in a saucepan over medium heat, being careful not to scald it. Alternatively, use a milk frother if you have one. If using a saucepan, whisk occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.
- Stir in your chosen sweetener to the warmed milk, if desired.
- Pour the whisked matcha paste into your mug. Slowly pour the warmed milk over the matcha, reserving a little foam for the top.
- Spoon or pour the remaining milk foam over the latte.
- Drink immediately and savor the moment.
