Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 2 tablespoons hot water (30ml)
- 1 cup milk of choice (240ml)
- 1-2 teaspoons sweetener of choice (granulated sugar, honey, maple syrup, agave) or to taste
Instructions:
- Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl or mug to prevent clumps. Add hot water and whisk vigorously until a smooth, dark green paste forms. There should be no lumps.
- Heat your milk of choice in a saucepan over medium heat, or in a microwave-safe mug in the microwave, until steaming hot but not boiling.
- Stir in your sweetener of choice to the warmed milk until dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired.
- If desired, use a milk frother to create a light and airy foam.
- Pour the frothed milk over the matcha paste. Stir gently to combine. Alternatively, pour the matcha paste into the warmed milk and stir.
- Dust with extra matcha powder or sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve immediately.
