Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) water or unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup (30g) packed kale, stems removed, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 medium frozen banana (about 50g)
  • 1/2 cup (75g) frozen mango chunks
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) chia seeds or flaxseed meal

Instructions:

  1. Pour the water or almond milk into the blender jar.
  2. Add the chopped kale on top of the liquid.
  3. Add the frozen banana and mango to the blender.
  4. Add the lemon juice, ginger (if using), and chia seeds or flaxseed meal.
  5. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until completely smooth.
  6. If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more liquid. If it's too thin, add a few more frozen mango chunks.
  7. Pour the smoothie into a glass and drink immediately.
