Ingredients:

  • ounces (60 ml) Vodka (mid-to-high-shelf brand)
  • /2 ounce (15 ml) Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • –6 ounces (120–180 ml) Spicy, high-quality Ginger Beer
  • Generous amount of large Ice Cubes
  • fresh lime wedge or wheel for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Chill the Vessel: Fill your copper mug or highball glass completely with ice. Ensure the mug is properly chilled—this is essential for the Mule’s frosty appeal.
  2. Measure the Spirits: Pour the vodka directly over the ice in the mug.
  3. Add the Acid: Measure and add the freshly squeezed lime juice.
  4. Top with Spice: Gently pour the ginger beer over the ice and liquids, leaving about 1/2 inch of space at the top.
  5. Gentle Stir: Using a long spoon or swizzle stick, give the mixture one very gentle stir from bottom to top. Do not over-agitate, or you’ll lose the wonderful carbonation.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Slap your lime wedge or wheel (to release the oils) and place it on the rim or drop it into the drink. Serve immediately.
