Ingredients:
- 6 large eggs, straight from the fridge
- Water (enough to cover eggs by at least 1 inch)
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Fill a large bowl with ice and water. Set aside.
- Place eggs in a single layer in the saucepan. Add cold water until the eggs are covered by at least 1 inch. Stir in vinegar and salt.
- Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, immediately remove the saucepan from the heat. Cover the pot tightly with a lid.
- Let the eggs sit, covered, for 12 minutes for firm yolks (adjust time based on egg size and desired doneness).
- After the set time, immediately transfer the eggs to the ice bath using a slotted spoon.
- Let the eggs cool completely in the ice bath (at least 15 minutes). This helps prevent the yolks from turning green.
- Gently tap the egg all over to crack the shell. Start peeling under cold running water, working your way around the egg. Enjoy your easy peel hard boiled eggs!
