Ingredients:

  • 2 cups balsamic vinegar (480 ml)
  • 1/4 cup honey (85 g) (optional for added sweetness)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Pour the balsamic vinegar into the medium saucepan.
  2. Stir in honey for added sweetness and flavor.
  3. Heat over medium heat until it begins to bubble. Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer.
  4. Stir occasionally and let it reduce for about 15-20 minutes or until the liquid is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove from heat when it reaches desired thickness. Remember it will thicken further as it cools.
  6. Stir in a pinch of salt to balance the flavors, if desired.
  7. Let cool completely, then pour into a storage container.
