Ingredients:
- 500 g (4 cups) strong white bread flour
- 300 ml (1¼ cups) warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
- 10 g (2 tsp) salt
- 7 g (1½ tsp) sugar
- 7 g (2 tsp) dried yeast
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) vegetable oil (or melted butter)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Bread Machine: Ensure your bread machine is clean and ready for use. Remove the bread pan and attach the kneading blade.
- Add Ingredients: Pour warm water into the bread pan, add vegetable oil or melted butter, sprinkle sugar and salt, add bread flour, and create a well for the dried yeast.
- Select the Program: Fit the bread pan back into the machine and select the Basic or White Bread program. Choose the Medium crust option if available.
- Start the Machine: Press start and let the bread machine knead, rise, and bake.
- Check the Dough (Optional): If your machine allows, check the dough after the first kneading cycle; adjust moisture as needed.
- Cooling: Once the cooking cycle is completed, remove the bread pan and let the Stottie Cake cool for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
