Ingredients:
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for sprinkling
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thick. Cut into desired shapes using a cookie cutter or knife.
- Place the cookies on a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until just lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
