Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cornmeal (yellow or white)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 cup milk (whole or buttermilk)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Grease the baking pan or skillet with butter and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm with butter.
