Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) water
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) chopped fresh parsley (or chives)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Wash and trim the green beans.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Add the green beans to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are crisp-tender and bright green.
- Pour in the lemon juice and water. Stir to combine. Cook for another minute, allowing the beans to absorb the flavors.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley (or chives). Serve immediately.
