Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh broccoli rabe, trimmed and chopped into 2-inch pieces
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for added brightness)
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Rinse broccoli rabe thoroughly in cold water and drain. Trim the ends and chop into 2-inch pieces.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute or until fragrant, taking care not to let it burn.
- Stir in the chopped broccoli rabe and sauté for 4-5 minutes.
- Sprinkle in red pepper flakes and salt, toss to combine, and continue cooking until the greens are bright green and tender but still crisp (about another 3-4 minutes).
- Optional: Drizzle with lemon juice and season with black pepper before serving.
