Ingredients:

  • 4 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss to coat evenly. Pour apple mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Drizzle in the melted butter and stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Evenly distribute the topping over the apple filling.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
