Ingredients:

  • 5 oz (45 ml) Premium Clear Vodka
  • 25 oz (7 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
  • 5 oz (15 ml) Quality Grenadine Syrup
  • 4 - 5 oz (120 - 150 ml) Chilled Lemon-Lime Soda
  • Large, clear Ice Cubes, to fill glass
  • 3 Maraschino Cherries
  • 1 Lime Wedge or Wheel, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Glass and Ingredients: Ensure all liquid ingredients (especially the soda) are well-chilled. If possible, place your highball glass in the freezer for 5-10 minutes prior to assembly.
  2. Add Ice: Fill the chilled glass approximately three-quarters full with fresh, large ice cubes.
  3. Combine Base Liquids: Measure and pour the vodka and the fresh lime juice directly over the ice.
  4. Introduce the Fizz: Top the glass gently with the chilled lemon-lime soda. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to minimise agitation and preserve maximum bubbles. Leave about an inch of space at the top.
  5. Add the Grenadine: Slowly drizzle the grenadine over the top of the liquid. It should sink slightly and naturally colour the drink without needing violent stirring.
  6. Gentle Integration (Optional): If the grenadine has not mixed sufficiently, use a bar spoon to give one or two very gentle lifts from the bottom. Do not whisk or stir hard.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Thread the maraschino cherries onto a cocktail stick or simply drop them into the glass. Place a fresh lime wedge or wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.
