Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons Rubbed Dried Sage
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Thyme Leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Marjoram
  • 1 Tablespoon Fine Sea Salt (Optional)
  • 1 Teaspoon Coarsely Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Rosemary (crushed)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Celery Seed
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

Instructions:

  1. Measure the Foundation: Accurately measure the rubbed dried sage, dried thyme, and dried marjoram into your mixing bowl.
  2. Add the Aromatics: Add the celery seed, nutmeg, rosemary, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder to the bowl.
  3. Incorporate Salt (Optional): If using, measure and add the fine sea salt now. (Note: Many chefs keep the blend salt-free to control salt content later.)
  4. Combine Thoroughly: Using a whisk or spoon, combine all ingredients until they are uniformly distributed. Ensure there are no clumps of powder lurking about.
  5. Test and Adjust: Give the blend a sniff. If you prefer a stronger pine note, add another pinch of crushed rosemary.
  6. Store: Transfer the finished seasoning into a clean, airtight jar or spice tin. Label clearly with the contents and date. Store away from heat and direct sunlight.
