Ingredients:
- 1 large head of garlic (about 300g)
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (30ml)
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- Optional: Fresh herbs (e.g., thyme or rosemary)
Instructions:
- Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the top off the head of garlic, exposing the cloves. Place garlic on a piece of aluminum foil.
- Drizzle with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper. Optionally, sprinkle fresh herbs for added flavor.
- Wrap the garlic tightly in the foil. Place on a baking sheet and roast for 35-40 minutes.
- Remove from oven; garlic should be soft and golden. Allow to cool slightly before handling.
- Unwrap and gently squeeze the roasted cloves out of their skins. Serve warm as a spread or incorporate into your favorite dishes.
