Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (170g) quinoa, rinsed well
  • 1 ¾ cups (414ml) water or vegetable broth
  • ½ teaspoon (3g) salt

Instructions:

  1. Place the quinoa in a fine-mesh sieve and rinse thoroughly under cold running water for at least 30 seconds, until the water runs clear. This removes the saponins (a natural coating) that can make it taste bitter.
  2. Add the rinsed quinoa, water (or broth), and salt to the Instant Pot.
  3. Secure the Instant Pot lid, ensuring the pressure release valve is in the sealing position. Cook on high pressure for 1 minute.
  4. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure.
  5. Remove the lid carefully. Fluff the quinoa with a fork and serve immediately.
