Ingredients:
- 1 medium-large sweet potato (8-10 ounces / 225-285g)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon salt (coarse sea salt preferred)
- Pinch of black pepper (freshly ground)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash sweet potatoes thoroughly and dry. Pierce each sweet potato several times with a fork or knife.
- Rub each sweet potato with olive oil, ensuring even coverage.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Place sweet potatoes directly on the baking sheet. Bake for 45-75 minutes, depending on size. Check for doneness: Sweet potatoes are done when they are easily pierced with a fork and the flesh feels soft. An internal temperature of 205-215°F (96-102°C) indicates doneness.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before handling (optional).
