Ingredients:
- 2 cups white rice (e.g., Jasmine or Basmati)
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter or olive oil (optional)
- 2 cups brown rice (e.g., Long Grain or Short Grain)
- 2 ½ cups water
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter or olive oil (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse white rice under cold water until water runs clear (about 2-3 times). Drain well in a strainer.
- Place rinsed rice into the Instant Pot. Add the correct amount of water (and butter or oil, if using).
- Close the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to sealing.
- For white rice, select 'Manual' or 'Pressure Cook' and set the time for 4 minutes. For brown rice, set for 22 minutes.
- Once cooking time is complete, allow a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then carefully turn the valve to release any remaining pressure.
- Open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork. Serve hot or keep warm in the Instant Pot.
