Ingredients:
- ½ cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
- 1 teaspoon Chia Seeds (or ground flaxseed)
- ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
- ¾ cup Milk (Dairy or Non-Dairy)
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional)
- 1 medium Frozen Banana
- ¾ cup Frozen Mixed Berries
- 1 scoop Protein Powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Maple Syrup or Honey (or to taste)
- 2–4 Tablespoons Extra Liquid (Milk or Water, if needed)
Instructions:
- Combine dry ingredients: In an airtight container, measure and combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, and cinnamon. Stir briefly.
- Add wet ingredients: Pour in the milk and vanilla extract. Stir thoroughly until the dry ingredients are fully submerged and evenly mixed.
- Chill base: Seal the container and refrigerate for a minimum of 8 hours, or up to 3 days, allowing the oats and chia seeds to fully soften.
- Load blender: Transfer the entire chilled oat base into the jug of a high-speed blender.
- Add remaining components: Add the frozen banana slices, frozen berries, protein powder (if using), and sweetener (maple syrup or honey).
- Blend: Secure the lid and blend on high speed for 60 to 90 seconds until the mixture is completely homogenous and silky smooth.
- Adjust and serve: If the smoothie is too thick, add extra liquid (milk or water), one tablespoon at a time, blending briefly after each addition until the desired consistency is reached. Pour immediately into a chilled glass.
