Ingredients:
- 1 cup (90g) Rolled Oats (Old-Fashioned or Quick-Cooking, not instant)
Instructions:
- Ensure the rolled oats are clean and free of any debris. If desired, you can toast the oats lightly in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes on medium heat for a nuttier flavour. Cool completely before proceeding.
- Pour the rolled oats into the blender or food processor.
- Pulse the oats initially to break them down, then blend continuously until a fine, powdery flour forms. Watch carefully to prevent over-processing, which can lead to oat butter. Scrape down the sides of the blender as needed.
- Once blended, check the flour for a smooth, even texture. If it's too coarse, blend for a few more seconds.
- For a super-fine flour, sift it through a fine-mesh sieve. Discard any large pieces or re-blend them.
- Store the oat flour in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 2-3 months. Now you know how to make oat flour at home!
