Ingredients:

  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 jalapeño peppers, seeds removed and finely diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dice the tomatoes.
  2. Finely chop the red onion.
  3. Remove seeds and finely dice the jalapeño peppers (wear gloves if desired).
  4. Chop the cilantro.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, and jalapeños.
  6. Add chopped cilantro.
  7. Squeeze the juice of the limes into the bowl.
  8. Sprinkle in the salt, cumin, and black pepper.
  9. Stir gently until well combined.
  10. Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning as needed.
  11. Transfer the salsa to a serving dish and serve immediately or let it chill in the refrigerator for enhanced flavors.
