Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder (about 5 grams)
- 2 tablespoons hot water (approx. 60°C / 140°F)
- 1 ½ cups milk (dairy, almond, oat, or any milk of choice)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Sift matcha powder into a small bowl to avoid clumps.
- Add hot water and whisk until smooth and frothy. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until steaming but not boiling.
- If using, add honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract to the milk, stirring to combine.
- Pour the matcha mixture into two mugs or cups.
- Slowly pour the heated milk over the matcha, using a spoon to hold back the froth if desired.
- Froth any remaining milk and spoon it on top of the latte for an extra creamy finish.
