Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder (about 5 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water (approx. 60°C / 140°F)
  • 1 ½ cups milk (dairy, almond, oat, or any milk of choice)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Sift matcha powder into a small bowl to avoid clumps.
  2. Add hot water and whisk until smooth and frothy. Set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until steaming but not boiling.
  4. If using, add honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract to the milk, stirring to combine.
  5. Pour the matcha mixture into two mugs or cups.
  6. Slowly pour the heated milk over the matcha, using a spoon to hold back the froth if desired.
  7. Froth any remaining milk and spoon it on top of the latte for an extra creamy finish.
