- 4 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tablespoon garlic paste)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (8 grams)
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (3 grams)
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped (3 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (2 grams)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (1 gram)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon lemon juice (5 mL) for brightness
Instructions:
- Gather all ingredients and equipment. Soften the butter at room temperature if not already soft.
- Using a chefs knife, mince the garlic into fine pieces.
- Finely chop the parsley, chives, and thyme on the cutting board.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper. Add lemon juice if using.
- Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed and the butter is smooth.
- Transfer the butter mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper or plastic wrap. Form into a log shape and wrap tightly.
- Place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes, or until firm (though can be used immediately).
- Once chilled, slice as needed and serve or use in recipes.
