Ingredients:

  • 4 cups full-fat plain yogurt (preferably Greek-style for thickness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Fresh herbs (like mint, dill, or za’atar) for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Place a fine mesh strainer or colander over a large bowl and line it with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the yogurt and salt until well mixed.
  3. Pour the yogurt mixture into the lined strainer, folding the excess cloth over the top.
  4. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and let it strain for 24 hours.
  5. After 24 hours, remove the labneh from the strainer and place it in a serving bowl.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle fresh herbs on top, and enjoy with pita bread or crackers.
