Ingredients:
- 4 cups full-fat plain yogurt (preferably Greek-style for thickness)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Fresh herbs (like mint, dill, or za’atar) for garnish
Instructions:
- Place a fine mesh strainer or colander over a large bowl and line it with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the yogurt and salt until well mixed.
- Pour the yogurt mixture into the lined strainer, folding the excess cloth over the top.
- Place the bowl in the refrigerator and let it strain for 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, remove the labneh from the strainer and place it in a serving bowl.
- Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle fresh herbs on top, and enjoy with pita bread or crackers.
