Ingredients:

  • 12 oz (340 g) penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 lb (450 g) kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (100 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons (10 g) fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add sliced kielbasa and sauté until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and stir to combine with the kielbasa and garlic.
  7. Add Parmesan cheese and Dijon mustard, mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
  8. Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  9. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  10. Plate the pasta, garnishing with fresh parsley before serving.
