Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) ground turkey or beef
  • 1/2 cup (50g) breadcrumbs, preferably panko
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) honey
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Additional sliced green onions

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey/beef, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sriracha, ginger, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  2. Use a cookie scoop or your hands to shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
  3. Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, sriracha, and sesame oil until smooth.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Bake or air fry the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  7. During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the meatballs generously with the sauce mixture.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot.
