Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) ground turkey or beef
- 1/2 cup (50g) breadcrumbs, preferably panko
- 1 large egg
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust for spice level)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup (60ml) honey
- 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Additional sliced green onions
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey/beef, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sriracha, ginger, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
- Use a cookie scoop or your hands to shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
- Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, sriracha, and sesame oil until smooth.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake or air fry the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the meatballs generously with the sauce mixture.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot.
