Ingredients:

  • 1 (14.3 oz / 405g) package Halloween Oreos
  • 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • Orange candy melts (optional)
  • Halloween-themed sprinkles (optional)
  • Edible food coloring pens (black, green) (optional)
  • White chocolate for drizzle (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Crush the Oreos: Using a food processor, grind the entire package of Halloween Oreos (including the cream filling) into fine crumbs. Alternatively, place Oreos in a large zip-top bag, seal, and crush with a rolling pin.
  2. Combine with Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese. Mix well until a smooth, dough-like mixture forms.
  3. Chill the Mixture: Roll the mixture into approximately 24 evenly sized balls. Place the Oreo balls on the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips with the coconut oil until smooth. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
  5. Dip the Truffles: Remove the chilled Oreo balls from the refrigerator. One at a time, dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Use a fork or dipping tools to remove the truffle and tap off any excess chocolate.
  6. Decorate (Optional): Immediately decorate the dipped truffles with orange candy melts, Halloween sprinkles, and edible food coloring pens to create spooky designs. Alternatively, drizzle with melted white chocolate.
  7. Set the Chocolate: Return the decorated truffles to the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
