Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 8 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine yellow cake mix, melted butter, and one egg; mix until a soft, thick dough forms.
  3. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the pan, ensuring corners are filled.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and lump-free.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Slowly incorporate powdered sugar and salt on low speed.
  7. Stir in melted butter and vanilla extract until the mixture is glossy and pale.
  8. Pour the topping over the pressed base and spread to the edges.
  9. Bake for 35–40 minutes until edges are mahogany-gold and the center has a slight wobble.
  10. Remove from oven and cool completely in the pan to allow the topping to set.
