Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole milk (warmed to 110°F)
- 2.25 tsp instant yeast
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar
- 0.25 cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 3.5 cups bread flour
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter (very soft)
- 0.75 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 0.5 cup heavy cream (room temperature)
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
- 1.5 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions:
- Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a stand mixer bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add melted butter and egg.
- Gradually add bread flour and salt. Knead with a dough hook on medium speed for 5-7 minutes until smooth and tacky.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and roll into a large rectangle. Spread 0.5 cup soft butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Cut dough into long strips. Roll the first strip into a spiral, then wrap subsequent strips around it to create one giant roll. Place in a greased skillet.
- Pour 0.5 cup heavy cream over the roll and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and 2 tbsp cream. Spread over the warm roll before serving.
