Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed
- 3 tablespoons (45ml) olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for sprinkling
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little kick)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon (7g) Panko breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crispiness)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (if using).
- Wash and thoroughly dry the green beans. Ensuring they are dry is key for browning.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Add the green beans to the bowl and toss well to ensure they are evenly coated with the garlic oil mixture.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and Panko breadcrumbs (if using) over the green beans and toss again to distribute evenly.
- Spread the green beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the green beans are tender-crisp and the Parmesan cheese is golden brown.
- Sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese (if desired) and serve immediately.
