Ingredients:
- 12 fl oz (355 ml) Cold Lager Beer
- 1 fl oz (30 ml) Amaretto Liqueur (used in base and shot)
- 1/4 fl oz (7.5 ml) High-Proof Alcohol (75% ABV or higher, such as 151 proof rum), for flaming floater
Instructions:
- Combine the Base: Pour the cold lager beer into a pint glass, filling it about three-quarters of the way.
- Add Amaretto to Base: Carefully pour 1 fl oz (30 ml) of Amaretto directly into the pint glass of beer.
- Fill the Shot Glass: Take an empty shot glass and fill it halfway with Amaretto (about 0.75 fl oz / 22 ml).
- Create the Floater: Very gently float the high-proof rum (151 proof/75% ABV) on top of the Amaretto layer in the shot glass. Tip: Pour slowly over the back of a teaspoon.
- Ignite the Floater (Safety First!): Use a long-handled lighter to carefully ignite the high-proof alcohol on the surface of the layered shot glass. The flame will be small and blue.
- The Drop: Using metal tongs, quickly but smoothly drop the burning shot glass into the pint glass base mixture.
- Extinguish Immediately: As soon as the shot glass submerges, the beer and foam will extinguish the flame instantly.
- Consume: Immediately lift the pint glass to your mouth and drink the contents in one swift gulp. Do not linger, as residual heat can be dangerous.
