Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 1 teaspoon blue raspberry extract (or equivalent flavor concentrate)
- Optional: 1/4 tsp blue food coloring gel
- 1 cup (240ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
- 4 cups (960ml) cold water
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Lemon slices and fresh raspberries, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely.
- Remove from heat and stir in blue raspberry extract and food coloring (if using).
- Let cool completely. This is your blue raspberry simple syrup.
- Juice the lemons to yield 1 cup of juice.
- In a pitcher, combine lemon juice, cold water, and the cooled blue raspberry simple syrup.
- Stir well to combine.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill (optional, but enhances the flavor).
- Serve the blue raspberry lemonade over ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices and fresh raspberries, if desired.
