  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly brush the paper with olive oil.
  2. In a small bowl, thoroughly whisk together the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, vinegar/lemon juice, garlic powder, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes until smooth to create the glaze.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with kitchen paper. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced well apart.
  4. Brush about half of the honey mixture evenly over the tops and sides of the salmon fillets. Reserve the remaining glaze.
  5. Place the salmon in the preheated oven and bake for 8 minutes.
  6. Remove the tray carefully. Brush the remaining glaze over the fillets. Return to the oven and bake for another 4–7 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  7. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes before serving immediately alongside steamed green beans and rice.
