Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground pork (or turkey)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped thyme, maple syrup (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using). Use a fork or spoon to mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
- Divide the mixture into eight equal portions. Form each portion into a round patty, about ¾-inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the sausage patties in the skillet without overcrowding. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve immediately or keep warm until ready to eat.
