Ingredients:

  • 1 package (17.3 oz / 485 g) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 cup (280 g) Nutella
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) chopped hazelnuts (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out creases.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into 4-inch squares using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine Nutella, chopped hazelnuts (if using), and sea salt.
  5. Place a tablespoon of Nutella filling in the center of each pastry square.
  6. Fold each square into a triangle, sealing edges by pressing with a fork.
  7. Transfer the puffs to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops of each puff with a beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffs are golden brown and puffed up.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
