Ingredients:
- 1 package (17.3 oz / 485 g) frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg (for egg wash)
- 1 cup (280 g) Nutella
- 1/4 cup (60 g) chopped hazelnuts (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out creases.
- Cut the puff pastry into 4-inch squares using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- In a mixing bowl, combine Nutella, chopped hazelnuts (if using), and sea salt.
- Place a tablespoon of Nutella filling in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold each square into a triangle, sealing edges by pressing with a fork.
- Transfer the puffs to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of each puff with a beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffs are golden brown and puffed up.
- Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
